About
The Kamikakushi Saga is a derivative work based on Miyazaki Hayao's animated film Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, called Spirited Away in American theaters.
Kamikakushi (神隠し) translates to "hidden by gods." In Japanese folklore it refers to the mysterious disappearance of a person at the hands of Kami, the indigenous spirits, or natural forces, of Japan.
Years of research and two trips to Japan form the creative and intellectual foundation of this series. The purpose of this page is to share the stories and the accompanying research to allow readers a deeper look into its connection to Japanese history, folklore, culture, and the hidden world of the Kami.
